Site: Located in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada Mountains, this ranch is situated on 1,040 acres with plans to include 122 residential estate lots.
Challenge: In addition to the rural setting and steep terrain, the thick forest canopy of this site prohibited use of GPS surveying technology. The nature of this rural, phased residential project required the use of more traditional surveying methodologies to provide both the boundary survey and the necessary construction control stakes. R.O. Anderson was selected by the owner to perform construction control surveys for all site grading, utilities and street layout for several of the project phases.
Solution: Our team employed its expertise in traditional survey principles and methodologies to provide mapping and construction stake-out services on each phase, including community water system improvements, several miles of rural roads and multiple large creek crossings.
